Senior Counsel 

Colin maintains a broad higher education practice area covering complex commercial transactions, intellectual property issues, information technology, cyber law, online/distance education, research, administrative/governance, student and employee issues, public records and sunshine laws. Before joining the University of Florida, Colin served for four years as the General Counsel for the Florida State College of Jacksonville providing legal advice in virtually all areas the higher education practice area.  Prior to that, Colin spent eight years with the Office of the General Counsel at the University of South Florida where he served as Associate General Counsel. Prior to the University of South Florida, Colin began his law career in a boutique firm in Jacksonville, Florida where he represented some of the largest companies in Florida in business, technology and transactional matters.

Colin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University and his Juris Doctorate with High Honors from the University of Florida.  Colin is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the courts of Florida, and he is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
