John Hines

Director of Public Records

John Hines is responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of the University’s public records functions and services. He also serves as the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel’s liaison to UF’s Office of Strategic Communications.

John is the primary facilitator for all public records requests for the University in conjunction with all other units across campus. He is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships throughout the University and oversees internal and external communications. In consultation with attorneys on the public records team, John ensures that the University’s public records functions and services comply with state and federal regulation.

He previously worked in University Relations and had been a part of the Communications Department at the University Athletic Association for 12 years. John received his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Science in Human Performance and Sports Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
