Amy Meyers Hass
Vice President and General Counsel
Amy Meyers Hass serves as the Vice President and General Counsel for the University of Florida, overseeing the legal affairs of the University and its affiliated entities. Her duties include representing and advising the University on legal matters relating to governance, research and fiscal compliance, constitutional issues, athletics, international activities, litigation and governmental investigations. Prior to joining the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel in 2006, Hass was a litigator with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP (now Eversheds Sutherland LLP) in Atlanta and New York where Hass represented financial services companies and individuals in a wide range of government enforcement proceedings, civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and internal corporate investigations. Amy Hass graduated, with honors, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from Furman University where she was a member of the women’s soccer team. Hass serves on the AAU General Counsels Committee, is a frequent presenter at national conferences, and has previously served on the Florida Bar’s Education Law Committee and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of College and University Law.
