Ana Claudia Spiguel

Senior Counsel 

Ana is a senior transactional lawyer for the University of Florida and advises on matters related to academic affairs, including business, academic and research transactions, both domestic and international.

Prior to joining UF, Ana was a Senior Associate with Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in Miami and Washington, D.C. While in private practice, Ana advised international financial institutions and multi-national corporations in cross-border lending, acquisitions, project finance, derivative transactions, international FCPA investigations and securities litigation, and in general corporate and commercial matters.

Ana received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Anthropology and Latin American Studies from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of California, San Diego.  She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Ana clerked for the Honorable Vice Chancellor Stephen P. Lamb on the Delaware Court of Chancery.  She is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York and the District of Columbia. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
